1964 FIVE CENT USA * LETTERS B B G ?

Hello,
can someone tell me the signification (meaning) of the letters B B G APPEARING ON MY 1964 FIVE CENT US ?

Hard to tell what the significance is unless you were there when they were added. Possibly someone's initials.
It didn't leave the mint that way so it is PMD

I live down in the states and I do believe it’s not against the law to counter stamp a coin or run it through and make an elongated coin but I do believe in Canada it is illegal to do both of those. Or at least the way I read it the coin is no longer current if that happens to the coin.
