Yep, it looks like j7K. However, I have a hard time believing Haxby's rarity scale. He has 6-7 that say rarity 10, and I find that unfathomnable. I'll look through mine and I think that I have 2 10's that would be in addition to his, I guess. Although I sent 6-700 59's to "Phil" for the Haxby site, I didn't send about 50 of my best varieties because I didn't want them lost in the mail. Phil went ahead and catalogued and ID'd all that I sent, so he could include the info for the Haxby site. Some, from him, were very high rarity and I had multiples of many of those. I'll try to ID, for myself, the really good coins into Haxby numbers and I'll find a few more 10's. I like the Griffin grades that are much more reasonable. He seldom went over 8 (less than 10 known) and there was no 10's. Anyway, nice find.

The Haxby catalog lists 9 die pairs as R-10, but the article was written about 4 1/2 years ago. ( time flies )

Of those 9 die pairs, only 3 are still actually R-10. At least one other example has been reported for the other 6. The three that are still R-10 are Haxby #'s 53, 99, and 168. Since the article was written 5 additional previously unknown die pairs have been reported. They are 25A, 49A, 64A, 71A, and 134A. All of those are R-10 except 134A where 2 examples are known to us. So the current R-10 total is 7.

R-9's and R-10's are about equally rare. I'm sure another example of all R-10's will be found in time and there are probably some already in collections that have not been reported to us. We will probably update the rarity table this year in the catalog. Hope this information helps in the meantime.

That is a beautiful PC59-177 you posted photos of and a very late die state! I know of 5 examples of this die pair currently. Congratulations on a nice find.

Here is the one I have which is an earlier Die State than yours and not as nice as yours either! Congratulations on finding such a nice example.

Very nice one Gallant, and thanks for letting me know about this forum thread.

Here is my low grade example which I just got this week. The die state on this one is between the other two.
A fourth example is the discovery piece pictured in the Haxby catalog. The 5th one I have seen was sold on ebay maybe two years ago. I was going to bid on it in the last minute and my computer froze up. Two years later I finally got to add the 177 to my collection.

Coming back to the 59s was nice to see the Advancements that haxby has made

I had most of mine attributed to his old numbers, but I noticed that he had changed them at some point lol
