Small beads blunt 5

Post by KEN66 » Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:38 pm

I have two Canadian small cents graded by Anacs. One is a MS66 red the other is MS67 red. I can't find any value on the MS67 seems like none have been graded in MS67 red. Any help would be appreciated on the value. Thank you.

Is there any cameo? MS or PL? Go to the price guide here and see any auction sales. Then do an archive search on the CoincommunityFamily. Over the years, that 1965 has been discussed quite a bit.

Here's the list for '65 SB/B5: https://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-pr ... d_coin=147

Anacs is not considered as a reliable grader of canadian coins.
Price lists for Canadian coins generally include only those from ICCS, CCCS, PCGS and NGC.
ANACS MS67 means nothing vis a vis price guides.

Thanks for the reply. So would it be profitable if I send them to PCGS to be graded? Do I take them out of the slabs or just send them with in the slabs?

PCGS will charge you $25.00 to break open slabs plus $35.00 for grading and postage both ways.
Another note about Anacs, I have never ever come close to their grades I wouldn't hold my breath to get MS-67 from any other grading Company

I have a 1965 issue of the ICCS catalogue and they have 1 listed as MS67 and 31 as MS66
There may have been more since.

Here is a photo of the MS66 coin. I can not get to the MS67 coin for now.

Nice cent but it would have been nicer to see the reverse also instead of two Obverse.
No way of telling what you there.

Does it look like a MS66 coin shown in the photos? I listed the reverse.

I would think this coin barely makes MS64-MS65 in an ICCS holder. Probably comes back PL as well.

Since this thread is so old, I wonder what it came back as. I think not much over 63. Why on earth would someone spend 5-10 times what the coin is worth or will ever be worth to get some plastic with a tag? TPG's have brainwashed people into thinking that every coin, no matter its worth, needs to be graded. The main reason that so few 66 and 67's of this coin don't show up in a population report is that most people realize it's a terrible decision to send it to a TPG in the first place.
