What are these errors?

Post by redcent » Thu Mar 04, 2021 9:49 pm

Is this brockage and or a broadstrike? I thought it was pmd, until I noticed it was off center. Thanks.

Can you provide a closer look of the error?

For sure, this coin is indented either by a planchet or a coin.

I'm not sure that the partial brockage is there. This is why I want to see a closer look of the error.

If there's no pattern within the indented region, the indentation is done by a planchet.

In summary:
partial indent (done by a planchet)
or
partial brockage (done by a previously struck coin).
