1974 help

Post by Enyaw » Tue Apr 12, 2022 6:38 pm

I could use some help identifying the features on this 1974 coin. The center of the coin has a "weak strike" and there almost seems like a "pattern" of ridges radiating from the center and getting more pronounced toward the rim after the date, Canada and 1 cent.
The obverse may be a slightly uncentered broadstrike?
Thanks

I was thinking that they might be Trail Dies.
The Obverse is a slightly Misaligned Die, not a Broadstrike.

Thanks for your thoughts. Do you have any articles/examples of trial dies as I would like to learn more.
I appreciate the terminology correction. Would this be an uncentered broadstrike or still a misaligned die and is it worth keeping being in such rough condition?

This ten cent was an off centered strike but unfortunately the wear has destroyed most of the best features

Here is a good site on trail dies.
http:/www.traildies.com

Also please only one coin per post.It gets confusing with numerous coins on the same posting

It's not an off center strike.
The coin is out of round.
It' simply a damaged coin.

And your first coin has been struck by very worn dies.
