Hello not sure if i said this before is that i have some 2012 steel cents from unc mint rolls that have some blob of metal . the first 2 in the date, some more pronounce than others. Also some of the cents i found black spots on unc cents, looks like rust. some doubling of dates i always have trouble trying to upload pictures of these coins, it should be easier to upload pictures on this site. Thanks for every ones opinion's on subjects.

The mint is having plating problems and crappy quality control The plating on the coins are bubbling/cracking from probably gases released from below, so the underlying metal shows through. Since some of that metal is steel, you get rust and that's where the minute quantity of gas is coming from.... oxidation. The plating evidently is not holding.
