Re: silver penny
Welcome to the Forum.
It wouldn’t be a wrong planchet. It looks like it has been silver plated and holed for a piece of jewellery.
It looks like it may have even been encased in a bezel at one time. Possibly worn thin from use.

Re: silver penny
Unless it is the lighting, it appears that some of the denticles show copper under or worn through the plating

Re: silver penny
yes its the lighting there are no copper showing any where and there is no signs of flaking anywhere thank you for your reply to lm new to this and appreciate all feedback thanks again george parker
Re: silver penny
If as you say it is all silver, then the other alternative would be that it is a cast replica possibly made by a jeweller which was not all that uncommon. This would account for the thinness and the rough appearance of
the lettering. There is no way that this was produced by the mint, it would have had to be made off site.

I posted pictures ( although not very good ) a short while back. You should be able to find them. I thought they might have been chromed.
Re: silver penny
