I use one of those digital microscopes sold from Hong Kong on eBay:

The optics are reasonable for the price - $50 to $70 plus shipping.

Beveled Rim come from a little off center strike ? Causing the short denticles?

Nope. What you see in each image is consistent for the full circumference of each coin.
