New Brunswick 1 cent variety?

This 1864 New Brunswick cent appears to exhibit a short 6 punched over a tall 6 (see images below). My library on New Brunswick is out of date. Is the subject coin possibly a new variety? All thoughts welcome.

Nice coin. I'm not sure if you have a 6/6 .... it just looks like a tall 6 with a little die or punch wear/deterioration. I don't think that it's a "new" variety, as there's been 160 years worth of eyes looking. I don't think that there's a large community of NB cent collectors, but a very nice find.

There was a tall six and a short six for that year.
Looks like you have a short six over punching a tall six.
Can't help you as far as the variety goes Nice find, never seen this before.

Thanks guys for responding. Please note below images of the obverse die clashing, weak ‘S’ in ‘Brunswick’ and incomplete leaf on the obverse to further identify the particular dies responsible for the subject coin. Should a higher grade example show up in the future it might be possible to give a definitive answer as to its identity (new variety, die erosion…etc.).
