Best Calgary coin appraiser and how to sell?

Post by rescuerob » Tue Jun 21, 2022 10:57 am

Hi all

I am new to the community and am learning a lot through this forum. A few questions I have is:

I think I have a 1953 NSF Near 5 cent coin in my current collection and am unsure as to what grade it is. Suggestions to have it confirmed and graded in Calgary?

Also if I was to sell some of my coins and notes (I have graded 1954 Devils face $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20 notes), how would I go about doing that? Sell privately or wait for a coin collector show?

Thank you in advance.

Really depends on what you want for the notes and how you wish to sell them. Also speed. You can look in guides to see the 'best value' you might achieve. You can look on Ebay and see what people are buying them for. You can see if anyone in a local club might like them.

As far as your nickel goes, if you want to post a clear picture of both sides,
there should be someone on this site that can verify and grade it for you.
If you want it professionally graded, you would have to send it to either
ICCS in Toronto or CCCS in Quebec.

Post your coin here. If you can't actually SELL a coin for $100, then you will spend more in fees, postage and insurance than the coin will ever be worth, depending on the TPG.

It’s definitely a near leaf but it’s not the nsf it’s the shoulder fold type.

I agree, that is the common SF near leaf. In that condition it is worth 5 cents.
