I have a 1949 dime that on the obverse is missing the D in CANADA the VI on the reverse side. There is a slight indentation where the D is missing and no indication of the VI being scraped off. I’m assuming that when the coin was pressed something was on the die that created the indentation on the obverse and pushed out the reverse side so that the VI didn’t appear. Does that sound reasonable? And the other all important question, any value? Thanks.

Re: 1949 dime missing VI
Looks like a filled die to me

Re: 1949 dime missing VI
I take it that this means although it is kind of rare, it's not unusual to find such missing letters on coins?
