Hi,

Is this a die clash? It looks as though it is the entire back of his head? From the bottom straight to the top? I know my pictures are not the clearest. I cannot seem to get any better pictures.

Thoughts please?

Yes, that is the question...what to do with it. Are coins with a die clash worth more? or are they just an irregularity that does not affect the value? New to collecting. Any replies are appreciated!

The 1943 through 1946 fifty cent coins were very prone to Reverse die clashes… in the previous years of World War II the folks at the mint made an effort to erase the clash marks from the dies and some times you can find a coin that had been punched by one of these reworked dies.

You can sometimes find 1945 fifty cent coins that have Reverse die clash marks that are doubled and I have even seen a 1945 coin with three die clash marks.
