1989 loonie

Post by hanson » Mon Jul 02, 2018 11:56 pm

Hi I am new here so bear with me I have a 1989 loonie that appears to have been hit multiple times in the minting process. The date is above the loon upside down and backwards as well as the regular place for it.
Also there are letters on the coin in different places. Also on the obverse there are three hits. I am wondering
if anyone else has encountered such a coin. I will try and post pictures but have never done it before and not real
computer smart. But would appreciate any feed back. Thanks Bob

We really can't tell you anything without a photo. What you describe can be due to any number of reason, including someone in a garage or basement with any number of tools, including a large hammer and a block of wood.... and with a second coin.

I agree with Bill
The fact that the lettering is backwards indicates that it has
probably been struck with another coin.
Known as a " vise job".
