1953 One Dollar SF SWL with Die Break on 'GRATIA'

Post by dutchie » Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:48 am

Hello everyone,
I though I would post this since I have not seen this with a 1953 Canada dollar anywhere else. A nice die break between the letters of "RATI" on GRATIA of the reverse.
Dutchie.

Hi dutchie, if the crack is raised, I agree with you. Also look for possible doubling in REGINA.

The "DEI GRATIA REGINA" is a common area for die cracks on a lot of the silver dollars. Charlton has that area listed as varieties on six different Queen Elizabeth Dollars.

Hello Bond632,

I didn't find doubling, but I did find another die break between the R and E of REGINA.
