2019 D-Day Toonie

Post by altakid » Mon Jul 22, 2019 5:57 pm

I purchased this toonie and noticed that there is an error on the obverse to the left of the Queen. Can anyone tell me what this type of error is called and what could have caused it.

Without pictures it is hard to say. Don't know of any errors on that coin.

Looks like a plating bubble. The inner core is brass plate aluminum bronze and sometimes gas (air) gets trapped and expands forming a bubble. You should be
able to depress it with a toothpick.
