Post by GBELEC » Wed Jul 24, 2019 6:25 pm

I'm on a auction site that is selling a canadian 1986 $2 bill Prefix BRX Thiessen - Crow .
They are calling it a replacement Note, is that a replacement like the ( *) replacement notes.
onces again I'm a old confused guy

In the 1986 series, identification of a replacement note was made by the use of an "X" as the third prefix letter
so BRX would be a replacement note.

FYI-
There were 3,440,000 printed of that particular prefix

So you mean any prefix ending in with a "X" is a replacement no matter the signature?
In the bank note section of this site there are Bonin -Thiessen notes with the BRX prefix and then they have a EBX they call a replacement. Then there is all the ARX I think they should have stuck with the ( *) :D

Correct, any prefix ending with a X is a replacement. There is also the two different styles of a Theissen- Crow BBX replacement note you didn't mention.
