- This being my first time at ever posting a picture and using this kind of format, I hope to have at least got the basics correctly in place.

Would you supply a complete photo of both sides. It looks like it may have been made for a piece of jewelry
but need complete photo to confirm.
One thing for sure, it didn’t look like that when the coin was struck.

My apologies for this late in the evening reply. I will take a few shots to include a different angle along with a straight-on view of each side. It's definitely an odd coin to come across so any and all opinions are appreciated.

Your images did not come through.

Your second set of images did not come through.
The first one clearly shows where some sort of mount was added

I'm glad to finally get a shot posted. Thanks for your reply. In that picture, I have the coin leaning up against a rubber cell phone holder in order to catch that angle. I have other great close-up shots that I will continue to try to get posted. My biggest obstruction is my lack of computer skills. I will continue trying to get these other pictures posted until I succeed. Trying to achieve some self-taught computer skills at 60 yrs old has its own set of trials and errors, lol.

Regardless of any other photos, it's PMD, purposely done to affix it to something, jewelry or sculpture or ?????

Hi, Bill in Burl I appreciate your interest to reply. I regret not having the supporting pics up just yet but if I can't manage to do what's required of me to have them up in full detail, I will absolutely find someone asap to do the postings of the pictures on my behalf. I'm certain the detail in them will turn this twoonie discussion in a new direction for some that may agree on the extruding piece as being an occurring error that had taken place beginning by a type of laser engraving tip or pin that caused an error by fusion or taction onto the side of the coin specifically more so, directly within the unfinished letter being engraved. Pics will also show the next engraved letter to be shallow and incomplete while all the other letters prior to the point of the frig-up fusion area things seem to be of more depth with a more finished look. I'll end my reply here at that for now but I ask please do revisit if you will, thanks. Visual aids can offer much clarity when in doubt. In closing, I wish to change the subject a moment and just add a mention or share in a similarity. I too used to be a Bill in Burl, only a few short years ago, lol. I did a few work years on contract with Halton Region. It was a great decision for me back then and I give full credit to all the great folks of the different Communities for the reason things that mattered most had always gone as very well as they did. I was very blessed to have gotten to know an awful lot of really fine people during those few years of my service in Burlington, Oakville and of course Milton to Halton Hills area equally. You live in a fine place Bill. I have no doubt at all you have many good friends nearby. Goodbye for now From BIll in PEI

Whatever was done to your coin was done long after it left the mint. There are no letters or portions of the design that are engraved. A perfectly round, flat planchet is fed into the press and then it's struck and comes out a coin, having been struck on both faces and the side/edge. No other evolution takes place. Your coin was worked on someone unaffiliated with the mint and tried to make some kind of modification to it for some unknown purpose. Keep the coin as an oddity, but it has zero numismatic value other than it being strange.
