2006 Churchill Normal or Pixie ear?

Post by Jim MacKenzie » Sat Jun 11, 2022 11:21 am

I just got an e-mail request for info about the 2006 Churchill toonies. After doing a bit of research I found that two versions of the Churchill were minted (pixie ear and normal ear), but no real CONCRETE evidence as to where the normal ear versions were issued (circulation or sets). All of the UNC sets that I own or have seen online all have the pixie ear version, but the mintage shown below would suggest the normal ear would have been for sets.

Coin Community forum states that the mintages were Normal Ear: 31,636 and Pixie Ear: 5,005,000

Does anyone in here have clear photos of a normal ear Churchill? I would like to add these to my varieties page at http://www.saskatooncoinclub.ca/article ... eties.html

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help...
