Post by mbernard1 » Tue Apr 27, 2021 12:38 pm

Hi there guys,

I'm new to the world of coin collecting and I inherited my grandfathers coin collection and and i found this 1952 dollar in his collection and wondering what the grade would be? I'm trying to learn how to grade coins. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum.
First of all that is a Full Water Line (FWL), not a SWL.
It has been cleaned so it would get a Details Grade. I will say AU Details.

Thank you coinguy. Newbie question how can you tell its been cleaned? Is it cause of the finish and the way it shines?

It's because of the diagonal thin scratch marks. The cleaning was done with a heavy hand. Wearwise, it's AU.
