1981 rcm mint sets & experimental packaging

just a couple questions about the 1981 rcm experimental packaging
1) were all 1981 sets experimental packaged ?
2) if not how many of each were made ?
3) how can tell them apart from pictures ?

but not sure which 1981 set you are referring to.

Don’t worry about the typo, we all do it. I made one myself on this post when I typed 1984 instead of 1985
and didn’t notice it until later.
To answer your question, yes there were two different BU sets in 1985. There was the normal Pliofilm set
and the experimental Plastic set. There is no breakdown on the mintage as the RCM just gives a total of
173,924 for both sets. There were far fewer of the experimental sets as you can tell by the price. The
experimental sets go for about $55-60.00.
