Thanks troubadour
Do you have an opinion on the best place to send it in Canada, I heard there was one in Calgary but can't find anything online for it.

Hello altakid.

I just sent you an email. Let me know when you get it.

To bad you didn't make it to Edmonton last weekend for the Coin Show there. I could have introduced you to Steven Bell from BCS - Banknote Certification Service and Jason Bradford from Legacy Currency Grading.

troubadour gave you a good list with one exception.

The PCGS Currency contract ran out in January and they are no longer allowed to grade bank notes.

Jason Bradford, the former president of PCGS started Legacy Currency Grading.

Their website is https://www.legacygrading.com/index.html

I don't know if it is the quality of the photo or the fabric that it is on, however it looks like the bottom and top edges have fine creases or tears in them. Also a few corners seem soft or rounded. Until the note is actually seen it is hard to say if it is an UNC. It may only be an AU or EF. Unfortunately phone or fish eye cameras produce some distorted photos.

Hopefully I get to hear from you.

Interesting development.

I wonder if any restrictions will be placed on PCGS.

I may give Jason a call for more info about this.

Thanks for the posting

Thanks for the info Bushman74. I shipped it off to BCS yesterday. It does have some rippling of the bottom edge and a very slight crease in the centre so it probably won't get graded too high.

Re your email message: I'm in Stettler, don't get to Calgary often and had commitments last weekend so I missed Edmonton show

Curious to know what did BCS grade your note at?
Any pics once slabbed?

That's a nice 1937 $5 @altakid! The note is well centred & its nice bright blue colour shows its a true "original." Many notes back then got pressed so congrats!

Might not be UNC, but still pretty nice. Glad they did a good job for you!
