Good morning, value?

Post by Age.relics » Tue Nov 10, 2020 2:38 pm

Good morning to all.

New to this and eager to learn.
I stumbled across a large amount of bills that I would like to sell as I am preparing to be a father in December.

Welcome to Coins and Canada

What you have is the 1954 "Devils Face" portrait which in itself is worth a premium.
Value depends on condition and it is hard to determine condition of paper money from a photo.
If it is in uncirculated condition, it could be worth a couple of hundred dollars. One thing, do not handle them and put them in proper holders as to not damage them. The more they get handled, the less they would be worth. If you have more of this value, it may be worth sending them of to be certified.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you stumble across them.

Thank you!
Appreciate the input!
They’ve been handled with care and are now in individual ziplock bags until I get the proper sleeves.
As to how I found them, My wife works at a bank and told me someone brought them in.
Does everyone just put them on eBay and hope for the best?

try to find if you have any rarity here
https://www.coinsandcanada.com/banknotes-prices.php

if yes, get them certified. if not, you can sell them on ebay or to any collector/coin shop that you trust.

To me it looks like Your bill has some staining and a pretty solid fold in it which takes away from its value but its still a bill that lots of collectors would be interested in. If you are in a area that might have a coin club it would be a good place to contact . they can possibly give you contacts for selling it. You say you have other Notes, may be you can show use some more , I'm always interested and jealous :D
And congrats on the fatherhood.

I'm interested.
I sent you a message a while back. Let me know if you are still looking to sell anything.
Thanks,
Craig
