The book value is only around $3-4 each plus maybe a small premium as a novelty.

There are around 1 billion dollars worth of 1986 $2 banknotes that have never been turned into the bank, unless you had a rare prefix there is nothing special about them. Like I said in my first post, you might get a bit more because you have four uncut bills. I can still find 1937 banknotes at pretty close to face value. It is the same thing with coins, if they are common they don't have a lot of value.

Each of the designations e.g. GUNC 67 refer to grades. The highest grade is the virtually unattainable Gem Uncirculated 70. Every tiny imperfection reduces the grade, and price accordingly.

The grades and prices you posted appear to apply to something other than your BBU banknotes. There are some BBP and BBX varieties that may sell for $60 or $70 but BBU notes top out at $10. If your notes were not attached together I would suggest they would be less than $10 due to the waves I can see in the pictures. There are also likely other tiny imperfections, that as a non-collector you may not realize exist, that will negatively affect pricing.

Having said that there are pricing guides for sheet sets of $2 notes. I don't have pricing info on sets of 4 notes. Sets of 40 notes (both 5x8 and 4x10) can be purchased for less than $200.

Hope this helps.

With any kind of price guide, whether it is coin, bills, tokens, etc, that is not what you can actually SELL the item for. As with most guides, you would be lucky to get 50% of what the book says from any dealer and most probably less than 70% to a private party. You need to find Ebay or auction actual SELLING prices to see what the worth or value is. It's supply and demand where someone has to actually pull money from a wallet and pass it to you. If there are millions of any item around and less than a few hundred collectors, you may have to be happy with face value or maybe 10-20% over face depending on condition.

I agree with Bill!

Price guide and reference books show retails value. You can look at the prices realized at auctions for market/selling values.
