Advice on Potential Value of Notes - How to check Value - Toronto?

Post by KJYYZ » Sun Apr 25, 2021 12:50 pm

New here. My wife would always take any money she got from the bank that was very crisp and not spend it. It got to the point where I had to start to take it to the safety deposit box. The other day, I was going to just deposit it into our child’s account but figured I should find out if any of the notes is worth anything.
I have surmised that there could be value in the grade.

I have read through the descriptions and a good amount of them are definitely UNCirculated with some probably Choice and GEM.

Some 86 issue 5s, 91 20s, stacks of 2004/5/6 20s, 10s, 5s, 50s, 100s… [this probably where the most is - and more recent.]

I live in Toronto and would like to perhaps find out from someone trustworthy the value of them.

Welcome thoughts.

99.99% of modern notes are worth face value .
Prices listed for uncirculated notes are for certified notes only.
You will not find a dealer to buy them or sort and evaluate them.
You're going do have to do the leg work yourself.
Using this site as a reference pick out any valuable serial numbers
No one will grade them for you for free, you will have to submit them yourself, and that's always a money losing experience for modern notes unless you are very experienced..
Then try and flog them on eBay or kijiji
Or if your time is better spent elsewhere deposit them to your child's account.

Welcome KJ!
TBH is 100% right! You can get a seller/reseller opinion in a downtown Toronto coin shop.
