Greetings.

Everything that is interesting about Canadian paper currency I have only learned from this site in the last couple of hours! So apologies in advance.

Just thought I'd share photos of three interesting $5 notes that were recently rediscovered in a family member's basement. My wife's grandfather worked for the Canadian Bank Note Company during the 1950's. There was some accompanying documentation as well. What makes the bills interesting are the serial numbers (0000001, 0000003, 10000000) and that they were uncirculated. Alas, they do not have the devil's face!

You should get them certified if you think about selling them.

:)

Thanks for the interest and suggestions. Sounds like it would be worth the effort to look after these notes. Honestly we haven't a clue what they're worth.

We live in a small town where there doesn't appear to be any kind of bank note certification service nearby. Is it really accepted practise to simply mail or courier them to a shop that advertises this service? It just seems so frought with potential problems. For example..."What bills you sent us?" :)

Suggestions?
