$5 Ink prefix changeover missing some design Ink

Post by MichaelMartin85 » Sun Oct 30, 2022 3:20 pm

I was going through a stack of $5 bill ink prefix signature changeovers and noticed a few interesting bills missing some design ink under the word "issue 2013" figured I would share :D unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the full bill.

It happens in printing.
Possibly the start of a run and the fountains weren’t set properly yet.
The opposite of when you have two much ink and you get ink smears.

Cool, thanks for the info. I found seven well going through a strap from the bank. Pretty sure there was nine in total but I sold a handful before I noticed.

Do you figure it would be a big enough printing error to warrant a premium on the bill? Considering errors on polymer notes are fairly rare Plus it's on a changeover note.
