All of those graders are known as 3rd tier graders so don’t put too much stock in the grades.
Also unless it is the photo, at least one looks counterfeit.
Could you please take a closeup of the PCI MS 66 dollar.

@coinguy - I understand that the grading may very well be over graded by some degree but there surely must be some good value here?

As for a fake Morgan, I sure hope not. I’ve taken close ups of the obverse and reverse of the PCI ms 66. Let me know what you think….

I am as far away from a person who can properly grade coins above 50 as you can get, but the '89 doesn't look right. Compare the serifs on the E's and I's. When the fakers use computer and laser copies of an existing coins, you can sometimes see that the serifs on some letters just don't come out right. At the mint, the masters and matrices that make the dies are carefully engraved. The '89 maay, in fact, be a good coin but a couple things didn't look right.

There is still value, what I am saying is that they are probably all overgraded which third party slabbers tend
to do and one is even misatributed.
The 1880S PL MS65+ is not a proof. All proofs were minted in Philadelphia so that is a regular business strike.

@coinguy
I appreciate all the insight. Still so much for me to learn in this hobby.

With coins that are graded by “3rd party” graders, how does a person go about selling those coins? Does everyone stay away from buying them, or is this more of a NGC or PCGS all or nothing cornering of the market? Seems like people interested in them are looking to steal them price-wise because of the grader.

Just curious as I am looking to sell some coins and continuing to purchase others that I am fond of.

Any suggestions or thoughts are welcome..

There are other accepted graders as well such as ANACS, ICG, CCCS and ICCS.
As far as selling them , it depends on where you want to sell them . You can’t
sell them on eBay as they are not an accepted grader but you can sell to a coin shop,
individuals , etc. as it would then be there responsibility to know what they are buying.
You could also try selling on kijiji.
The old saying goes, “ Buy the coin, not the holder”

I really appreciate the advice again. This all makes very good sense.

Would you recommend any coin shops in Calgary?

I’m sure there are others but the biggest I believe is Calgary Coin Gallery.
Being from Ontario, I’m not familiar with any others.
