I have a 1951 uncirculated mint set with a error in the ear of the 50 cent, perhaps from filling but it makes it appear like King George V1 has a V1 in his ear. Has anyone encountered one of these? Thanks, Keith.

I cannot get the pictures to display but I strongly suspect that what you are seeing are die clash marks in the King's ear. That are quite common in this vintage of the George VI 50c coins.
