Canada 1973 $1
Im new to this forum so please bare with me. I have a question about the serial numbers on a 1973 $1 sheet of 40 4x10 that all end with 35. The sequence starts with the top left bill ECP9380035 and ends bottom right bill ECP939535 and they all end with 35. From what I’ve discovered is these were reproduced by the Bank of Canada 1988 and were the last printed 1973 bills before the loonie. They printed about 26,600. My question is why are they not running in normal sequence and is there any value to having 40 bills that all end with 35?
Re: Canada 1973 $1
That is the way the sheets are printed. The next sheet would all end in 36 and so on so that when the bills are cut, you would have 40 bundles all in sequence.
Re: Canada 1973 $1
Thank you for your answer but it still doesn’t make proper sense. You would think after the first one on the sheet is printed that the next one beside it would be ECP9380035 then ECP9380036 and 37-38-39-40-41 etc. I appreciate your help.
Re: Canada 1973 $1
As coinguy indicated the next 4x10 sheet printed would all end in 36 then the next in 37, Each of these sheets are stacked one on top of the other untill there are 100 sheets. It is then that the notes are cut into individual notes with a very large cutting machine cutting all 100 sheets at the same time. in this way you are left with a bundle of 100 notes in sequence.

Yes thank you now that makes sense. I’m more than grateful to have an understanding. Great job. I guess I’m wondering if there is an real value than the $200 I paid for them. Lol
