1973 large bust Mountie
1973 large bust Mountie
Hello
I have a 1973 large bust Mountie and was hoping to get some help on possible worth and potentially selling. I’ve tried a couple places but they just want gold and silver coins.
Does anyone know anywhere or anyone preferably in southwestern Ontario that might be interested or be able to help?
Thanks

Can’t really verify if it is a Large Bust or not from that picture, but even if it is , value
would depend on condition and for that a clear photo of both sides would be required.
I do see what appears to be damage on the rim at 2.00 which would affect the value.

Not quite sure where in SW Ontario you are from but there are couple of coin shops in both Kitchener and London that may be interested. My preference is Colonial Acres in Kitchener, have sold and bought from them many coins.

There's another thread on this coin that explains some things.

I would not expect it to draw a whole lot on money for it, especially from a dealer. For those into error collecting, it's a nice find but, unless you sell it to an actual person and not a dealer, it will never get even close to 3 figures.
Try posting a thread on this site https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/for ... RUM_ID=139 and someone may express an interest. They have a buy-and-sell on their site, but you need xx posts before you are able. However, THAT site gets much more traffic than this CaC site.

I agree picture is not clear but it is clear enough to tell that it is a Large Bust.perhaps I was wrong, but the picture is not clear
Re: 1973 large bust Mountie
It's a large bust alright but the picture isn't clear enough to tell if it's business strike or PL.
The difference in price could vary by a factor of 10.

To put it in perspective, I just picked up a certified EF40 for $125. I’ve seen VF30s for about $90.
