2009 Dime Plating

I have a 2009 Dime that looks like 1 side did not get the plating. I put it under a microscope and cannot see any on the one side. I am familiar with ones that have had the plating removed , however this does not look like that.
How is the plating process done and is it possible to miss one side.
I will attach best pics that I can.
