2 coins from same year but look differently

Post by temmark » Sat May 31, 2025 12:02 am

Hi Guys, I found strange 25 cent coin from 2005.
It looks like normal one from top and bottom, but side is different.
Is it error, fake or something else?

Welcome to the forum
The reeds have just be worn off of the one quarter after it left the mint.
It is considered damage and adds no value.

Hi!

It is easy to remove the reeding on the edge of coins. If you can weight the 2 coins, 1 gram or 2 will be missing from the right one.

Let us known if you got any other question.
