Description

North Shore Power Railway & Navigation Company, founded by the Clarke Brothers in 1902, becomes in 1914 the Gulf Pulp and Paper Co., which was taken over by British interests in 1920.

In 1908, the company built a public wharf at Pointe-Noire for the paper mill and the hydroelectric plant, it built a railway from Clarke City to Pointe-Noire.

In 1967, the Gulf Pulp & Paper Company ceased his forestry activities.
