Silver King Hotel - Nelson
Description
The Silver King Hotel was the idea of Henry Crowfoot, who came from Hawkesbury, Ontario by train. On the way, the man stopped and took some teaching jobs, before he get to Nelson. He decided to put up a free building called Silver King Hotel and he found it was too much work to run the hotel and saloon. He contacted his sister, Carlina Field, from St. Paul, Minnesota, and asked if she could move to Nelson and run the hotel. She did, over by boat, because there was no train coming into this area. H. Crowfoot got married when he was 31.
